Thursday Outfit: Come into The Fold

Thursday Outfit: Come into The Fold

I swore I wasn’t going to buy any new clothes for work until the weather changed, but I ran into a hiccup called pandemic weight gain.  With only 50% of my wardrobe currently available to me, I snapped up a handful of pieces to make it through to the other side.  And my new favorite dress came from a lesser-known brand called The Fold.

Dress // This Mayfair Heart-Leaf Print Dress felt like a nice bridge between winter and spring.  It has a flowy, flirty a-line shape.  The ruffle details on the cuffs and collar are lovely.  And it’s so comfortable.

The Fold doesn’t offer an affiliate code, but it does offer a refer-a-friend feature.  So if you decide to make a Fold purchase, you will receive $40 off with this code, as will I. To receive the reward, click on the link asking if you’ve “Been referred by a friend?” in the The Fold checkout and Abra Belke.

Looking for a similar dress at a lower price point?  This Rebecca Taylor blurry-heart dress (also in navy) and this H&M dress has a black-and-white print.  I also like this Ann Taylor floral smocked dress.

Blazer // This puff sleeve blazer is in heavy rotation in my wardrobe.  Zara doesn’t make it anymore, but this Express blazer (also in petite), which I have tried on in store is a faithful recreation.  Plus-size?  This ASTR blazer is very close in style.

Belt // As you can see, I’m not wearing a belt in the photo.  This is the first time I’ve worn the outfit, and I will definitely wear a belt next time.  I think it will just pull the look together a bit more, and I hate a flimsy cloth belt, which is what this has.

I chose this knot-twist belt from Yoox because I wanted something unique.  You could also do a wide suede belt like this one.  I also like this skinny WHBM belt with a gold, in-line buckle.

Boots and Tights // To make this look appropriate for winter, I chose to pair it with my Loeffler Randall Gloria boots (one of the best purchases that I have ever made).  These Loefflers are discounted to $278 from $695, making them a total steal.  Can’t find your size?  Zappos has more sizes for $381.

The boots fall just under the skirt, so it makes for a sleek, uninterrupted leg line.  I also added a super dark tight because it’s February, but they aren’t necessary.

Earrings // These Missoma huggie pave claw hoops are on repeat in my house.  Missoma’s demi-fine jewelry is just so good.

Phone Case // I bought this Sonix phone case in tortoise and it’s a great option if you want something neutral, but interesting.  I also like this black leopard case.

As for styling, I hope to one day wear this dress with a lipstick people can see and a bit of winged eyeliner, but for today, I’m keeping it simple and wearing my reversible Wolford mask.  My hair’s a little short right now for an updo, but I would wear my hair in a low bun if it was longer.
