5 Of The Best Outdoor Pools In London

Although trips abroad are kind of a no-go again, the weather here in the UK has often reached holiday-type temperatures to make up for it. However, with a lack of air-con and no beach in sight, finding the perfect way to cool off can be quite the struggle. That’s until you realise there are actually plenty of outdoor pools right here in London that will make you feel like you’re anywhere but in England. We’ve rounded up five of our favourites so you can be totally prepared if the temperatures pick up again…

Introducing Central London’s best kept secret: Oasis Swimming Pool in Covent Garden. The best part? It’s heated, 27.5 metres and paired along with a sun terrace and an adjacent indoor pool just in case of some unpredictable weather. Not to mention, there are separated areas for adults and families and a cafe stocking smoothies and ice cream. Who needs Spain?

2. White City House

A relatively fresh addition to the Soho House family, White City House boasts a rooftop pool with long stretching views from The Shard to Wembley Stadium. This one is just for members but if you’re lucky enough to know someone with a membership, they’re allowed to bring one guest with them! Expect lots of luxury to say the least…

3. Hampstead Heath Ponds

Hampstead Heath actually has thirty ponds with three of them available for swimming in the summer months, complete with a lifeguard to ensure your safety. There’s actually a pond just for men and one just for women too if that’s your thing and of course, a mixed one. The water can be a bit chilly but rest assured it’s clean and just £4 to visit!

4. The Ned, Bank

Another membership option based right near Bank is The Ned, complete with panoramic views of the city including an incomparable sight of St Paul’s. All of which is complemented with two converted domes with outdoor terraces for eating and drinking. Plus, the bar features a retractable bar and heaters so you can make the most of it throughout all the seasons.

5. Hampton Pool, South-West

Hampton Pool labels itself as the hottest of all London’s swimming pools, warmed to a heat of 28 degrees year round. But it’s the monthly ‘Moonlight Dips’ which makes this spot really special. Each month you can swim from 10pm-midnight underneath the stars, but make sure to book over the phone because as expected, this sells out quick!

Now, what to wear…
