Donna Ida: Tell us your biggest lockdown achievement
I am SUPER grateful that my jewellery brand has been booming during lockdown, so I have been working all hours of the day, as I am missing the lovely girl who works for me but we speak on the phone. I have to say, I am doing a lot of manual work. Wrapping orders, about to move office and planning the next campaign shoot have used up a lot of my time. But, I really am so truly thankful for my customers supporting my business during this unknown time!
Donna Ida: If you could be locked down with anyone – not including your friends and family who would it be and why
Louis Theroux. I am just obsessed with his documentaries and he has released a podcast recently which is fantastic. I’d want to grill him about his documentaries and get all the details!!
Donna Ida: Show us your favourite ‘moment’ in your home. What do you look at every day that makes you happy, it can be a thing, a person, or just a corner of your home.
For me, my cosy bright pink velvet sofa is where I like to sit after dinner and get creative. Whether it’s planning for a shoot or designing jewellery, I just love this corner of my flat.
Donna Ida: We all buy beautiful clothes, handbags and accessories that we love but never seem to use. Let’s see your top 3 – styled if you can!
Right now I am living in linen dresses and jeans with bodies or cosy jumpers. I love a tracksuit at the weekend if I am chilling and making brunch and catching up on emails, but day-to-day I get dressed properly to set the tone right for the day. It makes me feel productive when I put my jewellery on, and get dressed in the morning.
Donna Ida: Can we see your daily denim – what jeans are you wearing all the time right now?
I go through phases with my jeans but right now I am loving AGoldE as they are great with a body or blouse, or even a chunky knit. I am lusting after your jumpsuits though!
Donna Ida: If you could design a Donna Ida jean/jumpsuit or ready to wear item what would it be called? We usually name the denim after girls that Ida would like to hang out with, and the name the ready to wear pieces after the way they make you feel.
Well, ideally I’d name the jeans after myself! I love the phrase ‘Don’t Look Back’ for ready to wear as you should never regret anything in life.
Donna Ida: What is the first thing you’ll do when you get out?
I want to see my parents and hug them. But I’d also really like to go to a restaurant with friends. As much as I love cooking, the novelty of eating alone has totally worn off.
Donna Ida: We’ll all get back to the airport at some point, when you do, what is the destination that will be on your boarding pass?
I am desperate to go to LA. It’s the place where I truly feel so inspired and I just adore the energy there, especially in Venice.
Donna Ida: Before we go, can you share a photo of your lockdown companion if you are lucky enough to have some!
Sadly I live alone!
